Past 2 months I have been working on a new project which utilizes index based technologies. We have been using SOLR which is an open source enterprise search server based on the Lucene Java search library, with XML/HTTP and JSON APIs, hit highlighting, faceted search, caching, replication, and a web administration interface.
I have been reading the following 2 books Lucene in Action and Collective Intelligence
One of the rare things is that I will be meeting one of the authors of the book Lucene in Action Erik Hatcher next week. I am pretty excited since I have never met a person of his caliber in person.

Recently I have been talking to couple collegues of mine since they are looking to send their kids to daycare/preschool/montesorri.
I was just curious on finding out the differences between them and I came across the following:
Day Care Centers are generally for the purpose of caring for children on an all-day basis. Nursery Schools are generally experiences in socialization and play. Preschools are oriented toward educational experiences combined with socialization and play. In most preschools the children are taught educational concepts in a group by a teacher. In a Montessori Preschool the children learn concepts spontaneously as they work independently with the many materials in their environment.
At age 2 ½ – 3 ½ a special sense of order, concentration, coordination, and independence begin to emerge. This time is ideal to begin a child’s training in Montessori as he is at the perfect period to build a strong foundation for future learning. Tuition in Montessori is much higher than other areas.
