SkyDive

My long lasting wish to skydive was fullfilled this past weekend. I did a tandem skydive at “Sky Dive Chicago“. Initially I was a bit nervous but howver, once I got over it and got into the dive suite it was all thrill and fun. The free fall was the most exiting and fun part of the dive. We flew to around 13000ft on a small plane which carried around 15 people and jumped form there. We were free falling till around 5500ft at which point I had to pull the chute. Once the chute is out it literally pulls you up with a force(If you have been on one of those roller coaster rides, that’s feeling I had :-)

Once we started gliding down I was able to control the chute and do some stunts. Finally the landing was smooth.

Career Fair

I attended the Purdue Career Fair this past week. I think it was a wonderful experience being there and talking to all the students looking for a Full Time job/internship. I guess I was reminded of the days when I graduated and attended tons of career fairs :-)

I noticed couple things during this fair which is so different from the days of 2000. One thing is that students were very very picky in giving their resumes to the companies. We had to literally pull people into our boot to talk tot hem. Most of the students were interested in EE N/W jobs which we didn’t offer. However by the end of day we were surprised to have collected enough resumes.

West Laffette where Purdue main campus is located is around 3 hrs drive from Chicago. Its a small university town with great Bars & Resturants. Its a beautiful campus which spans over acres of land. I am hoping I can go back there next month for the oncampus inerviews of the short listed candidates.
